Etel Adnan Award
The Etel Adnan Award for Women Playwrights - 2010 The Playwriting Competition The Al-Madina Theatre of Beirut and the Swedish National Touring Theatre (Riksteatern), announce an open call for women playwrights for the 2010 Etel Adnan Award for Women Playwrights. The competition provides an opportunity for winning women writers residing in Arabic-speaking countries to have their plays presented as a reading at the 2012 Women Playwrights International’s Conference (WPI) in Stockholm, Sweden.
Conferences old and new
As information becomes available, new folders will be created under the Conference tag. There is already one for Stockholm 2012. Today, one was created for Manila 2003 with a link to an article by Monica Raymond.
New Management Committee for WPI
At the conference in Mumbai held November 2009 a new management committee was elected to oversee the WPI organisation. They will work with the Swedish delegation in ensuring the 2012 WPI Conference will be held in Sweden. The outgoing management committee, Joyti Mhapsekar and the Indian Conference Committee were thanked and congratulated for their tireless work energy and success.
Sweden wins bid for 2012 WPI Conference
A delgation from Sweden proposed that the WPI Conference be hosted by Sweden.
